The Traveler GMT Is the Best GMT Short Sleeve T-Shirt
€32.00
When James Stacey's illustrious career in the watch industry comes to an end (hopefully many, many Geneva Watch Days from now), his peers will look back and say that arguably his most significant contribution - among many - was coining the terms "Traveler GMT" and "Caller GMT".
Both GMTs feature an extra hand to tell the time in a least a second location, but the Traveler GMT allows you to set the GMT hand first, then the local time in jumping-hour increments, with the seconds hand continuing to run. So, at your departure you set a reference time with the GMT hand, set the local time with the hour hand, and just move that hand forward or back when you arrive at your destination.
Since those who own GMTs are very important, busy people who lead glamorous lives and travel a lot, it is unthinkable that they would want to "lose time" by having to adjust the hour hand first, while the second hand stops. It is also unthinkable they'd want to lose another minute or so re-setting the seconds hand to a reference time.
James has said there is no "true" GMT because each serves its own specific purpose.
That's some good diplomacy, but I know which one I'd rather have...
